Hardy Plant Society Plant Sale and Auction

6:00p: Doors open (for plant donations)

7:00p: Plant sale starts

The HPS Plant Sale and Auction happens just once per year. This event is very important—it is our main fundraiser and generates much-needed funds for our excellent speaker schedule. Come support the HPS and go home with some great plants!

Same location as our regular meetings:
Congregational Church of Birmingham
1000 Cranbrook Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304

This event is FREE and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to come (bring a friend or two or three!). Plant donations are appreciated, but are not necessary to attend.

To help support the HPS, we encourage you to bring hardy plants from your gardens for the sale and auction—but it is not required in order to attend and participate. Please start digging and dividing now, so your plant donations will have time to recover by the sale.

How to bring plants:
— When deciding what plants to bring to the auction, a good rule of thumb: would I like to have this plant in my garden?
— Please don't bring weedy, aggressive, or common plants. Examples: chameleon plant (Houttuynia), ivy, certain campanulas, bishop’s weed, ditch lilies, etc.
— Bring "hardy" plants: perennials, shrubs, and trees.
— Put plants in a pot and include a label with the plant name.
— If you don’t know the cultivar name for the plant, describe it. Examples: "tall pink phlox”, "blue mini hosta”, "short sedum, red fall color”, etc.

Please spread the word about the plant sale to your other plant groups, associations, Master Gardeners, garden clubs, and garden friends. The more, the merrier! Don't miss this fun evening as we geek out together over plants we love and want to share.
